The Creative Merchandising team connects members to the content they love through title, catalog, and language experiences that exemplify creative excellence on the Netflix platform. Under the product merchandising umbrella, the Lead Creative Merchandiser champions and oversees title-level innovation and merchandising strategy by identifying, piloting, and scaling new merchandising and product tactics for individual titles and across their vertical. 

They work with the lead merchandisers to bring merchandising playbooks to life and help empower and equip Creative Merchandisers and cross-functional teams to deliver the best promotional strategies for new content experiences. 

As an ambassador for the member experience, this candidate will actively engage with Product and Innovation teams to be the voice of members and input to a pipeline of ongoing innovation research, testing, and design that will go towards optimizing the member experience for our members.

The Lead Creative Merchandiser pilots new promotional and merch tactics, modules, and workflows, translating them into actionable tactics and uncovering best practices. Additionally, Leads help drive the adoption of global best practices, share learnings across the Product Merchandising global community, and represent Product Merchandising Creative in cross-functional workstreams and initiatives. 

In this role you will be responsible for

  • Focusing on a Member-Centric Approach: Prioritize the member experience in all strategic decisions and executions.

  • Fostering a collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives and cross-functional partnerships.

  • Bringing fandoms to life, whether it be a single title or a catalog or a content type, through creatively embracing what generates connections with members.

  • Data-Informed Decision Making: Leverage data insights to inform strategies and measure success.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Incorporate local and vertical nuances to ensure culturally resonant content.

  • Innovation: Embrace new technologies and creative approaches to stay ahead in the industry.

  • IP Cohesion: Ensure alignment with local and vertical teams, and create a member experience that expands and worldbuilds on each IP.

  • Work with the Lead Merchandiser to develop unified, insight-driven promotional strategies for individual games.

  • Optimize the member journey through strategic asset choreography for new content types.

  • Act as the connective tissue between Product Merch, Studio, and Marketing at the release level.

  • Work closely with our XD and ECXD to ensure new UI experiences or canvas experiences are optimized as they come to life for our members.

  • Work closely with the PM team to understand how the strategy and implementation of tests, new UI, and new experiences will impact your vertical. 

  • Translate product changes to studio and content stakeholders through the creative lens in their domain. 
     

Qualifications [including specific skills, years of experience, etc]:

  • 8+ years of experience

  • Is an exceptional communicator with the ability to inspire and influence.

  • Has a strong track record of building strong partnerships and stakeholder relationships.

  • Expert in product promotional space and intense curiosity in data and analytics when it comes to  promotional tactics for our members.

  • Is an experienced, self-motivated leader and strong collaborator.

  • Has the ability to manage large-scale projects and initiatives, while never losing sight of creative excellence and craft.

  • Actionable experience in the Game industry, Live broadcasts, podcasts or Entertainment outside of Netflix in any field

  • Understanding of product merchandising and promotion

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $340,000.00 - $490,000.00.
